As the European Commission prepares to present its first proposal for the post-2027 Multiannual Financial Framework, and as the EU reflects on the future of the Green Deal agenda, Res Publica Europa in cooperation with the Shift Project, held a dinner-debate on the sustainability of Europe’s agricultural sector.

The Shift Project presented the conclusions of their recent report (see HERE) on the transition to a low-carbon, sustainable and resilient agricultural sector, based on a consultation of farmers (mainly conducted in France): https://theshiftproject.org/publications/grande-consultation-agriculteurs/
On that basis, we engaged in an interactive discussion on how the future Common Agricultural Policy could be reformed to balance sustainability, resilience and competitiveness objectives.
