On the 7th of May, Res Publica Europa hosted dinner debate on the future of European sovereignty and strategic independence, featuring Klaus Welle. Drawing on his extensive experience at the heart of European policy-making as former Secretary-General of the EU parliament, Klaus Welle offered stimulating insights into the challenges and opportunities facing the European Union in an increasingly uncertain global landscape.

Active discussion went on regarding European defence and security, European identity, institutional reforms and the EU as a value-based geopolitical actor.
